Our latest innovation really does put you in the driving seat. Your project will be written and sent to you and then you decide what you want to pay on top of the small commissioning fee .* If you decide not to pay anything at the end of the project you are free to walk away with the complete manuscript and all associated rights. This is a trial and at present it will only be available to a small number of clients. However, if it is successful we hope to continue the trial in the Autumn and role out a more comprehensive form of the service at the beginning of next year. This trial is being conducted using a small number of our most experienced writers to ensure the highest possible standard of work.
Why are we doing this?
As the popularity of our services has increased we have taken on more and more new writers. These writers have all been of the highest possible standard and have a proven record. There a number of writers out there who are every bit as capable as our current staff but who do not yet have the experience to prove this. In the New Year we aim to give these writers the necessary experience through the “Pay What You Like” service. Their writing skills will be assessed based on what their clients are willing to pay. The current trial only involves our most experienced writers and it has been established to test the feasibility of such a service.
How does it work?
The normal cost of having a book written is between £10,000 and £30,000 through our most popular services. With this trial service you pay *£1499 at the beginning of the service and when you receive the completed manuscript you decide how much extra you wish to pay based on the quality of the work (up to £30,000). If you decide that you don’t want to make an additional payment at the end of the project you don’t have to and there will be no questions asked. You get to keep the manuscript and will own all rights to the work. Neither Donard Ghosts nor the writer will have any claim to the work. How do I sign-up?
Simply send an e-mail to our helpdesk providing a brief outline of your proposed project: helpdesk@donardghosts.com Please put “Pay What You Like” in the subject line of the e-mail. If one of the writers taking part in this trial likes your proposal they will get in touch with you. If your proposal is not successful you will be informed as soon as possible. By taking part in this trial your are agreeing to the terms and conditions below.
Terms and Condition
1. This trial is only open to individuals. Proposals from organisations are not permitted.
2. Only one proposal per client.
3. All project proposals will be treated in the strictest confidence even if the client is not successful in obtaining a place on this limited trial.
4. Proposals will be submitted to the writers running this trial in the order that we receive them, however, it it up to the individual writer to accept the project and they can refuse any project without providing an explanation.
5. Once payment has been cleared it will take between eight and ten weeks to complete the project.
6. The project will be between 80,000 and 100,000 words in length. If you want your project to be longer than this, it must be agreed before work begins on the work and an additional cost may apply. All additional costs will be discussed with you prior to commencement of work on the project and you are free to withdraw from the project should you not agree to this additional cost. Any monies paid will be returned.
7. At the end of the project you are entitled to have any parts of the project that you are not happy with re-written at no extra cost. The time for this re-write is between 4 and 6 weeks depending on the extent of the changes requested.
8. Copyright and all other rights to the project remain with the client at all times.
9. If the writer has to withdraw from the project for any reason you will be offered the opportunity to have the work completed by another writer, or you can have you money refunded in full.
10. All material will be sent to the writer from the client and to the client from the writer by e-mail unless an alternative arrangement has been made between both parties before work begins.
11. You will be required to provide us with a contact address in addition to your e-mail address. This will only be used in the event that we are unable to contact you at your e-mail address.
12. These terms and conditions may be updated. If they are updated you will be informed and given the opportunity to accept or decline the updated terms and conditions. If you decline the updated terms and conditions the contract between you and Donard Ghosts will be cancelled and all monies paid by you will be returned. You will not be notified of minor changes to spelling, grammar or other superficial changes.
